If anyone was wondering....

where I was at the buttcrack of dawn this morning rather than at work and on LJ, the car that we dropped off on Monday turned out to have a bunch of stuff wrong with it, naturally, and was not fixed until *today.* As my husband works 10-6 on Thursdays, and I didn't want to make him get up at 6:25 am to bring me to work, I changed my hours to start at 9 for today. I managed to get lost trying to get to work from the car repair place (where I left him to wait for it), was *still* a few minutes late, and arrived at work to an email telling me that the car was done.... but had cost mid-four-figures to fix.

So I wanted to thank everyone again for the sweet birthday wishes. Seriously, guys, that was the first *nice* thing to happen today, and it's made my birthday a happy one despite the "gift" of a car repair bill!

(....and the car's apparently handling much better now and the mechanic says it'll last a good long while more, so it was well worth the money, at least.)

Not fun, nope. but the BIRTHDAY officially starts from now, as far as I'm concerned; that stupid morning can belong to yesterday! Sheesh!

and yeah, Shash says the car is much happier, so that's good. Stupid Springfield ate my car - why, oh why, does MA refuse to repave roads?!

Thank you! Luckily, I had a lovely birthday after about 9 am. :)

And it's over in about 10 minutes, so hopefully no catastrophes will sneak in under the wire!
